Afternoon visit to Signal Hill to learn the historical significance of this tower of communication overlooking the entrance to the harbour. SKETCH the small fishing village of Battery from the opposite side of the Narrows. Take an optional hike up to the Fort Amherst lighthouse for exceptional views and photos. Tonight you will become “Screeched in” at the Newfoundland Soirée which includes a gourmet meal and colourful entertainment.

There is a good chance you will see the Newfoundland pitcher plant in this area! A little further on is the picturesque fishing village of Petty Harbour where we will enjoy the best fish and chips in the world for lunch! Saturday, September 1 - This morning you will have a chance to SKETCH the colours and unique architecture of the colourful Jelly Bean Houses dating back to the 1800s.
